Congratulations to Kloe, Torin, Ollie, Caitlyn, Mina, Gabriella, Nicole, Alanah, Ben, Agrim, Seun, Jake and Dante on completing their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award Expedition.
When they planned their expedition all those weeks ago, they couldn’t have guessed that they would be heading out on the hottest weekend of the year so far! They have had to dig really deep and went through all the emotions of tears, laughter, joy and pain to get the job done!
On their first day they walked over 14km from the academy to Woolsthorpe by Belvoir, carrying all of their camping equipment. At the end of a long day, they made camp at the Belvoir Holidays Campsite, where they cooked their own evening meal and prepared their camp for the evening.
The next morning they started the day at 5.30am to try and beat the heat forecast later in the day. The groups made their way back to the academy following a different route, and all made it back in good time.
Well done to you all – we are all really proud of you!
