This week our Year 8 students have enjoyed a trip to the birthplace and home of Sir Isaac Newton – Woolsthorpe Manor.

Students were hands-on with some of Sir Isaac Newton’s most famous experiments and toured the house where he lived. They learnt about life in Newton’s day and what he was like as a person.

After learning about Newton’s theories on gravity, forces and light they saw the famous apple tree which helped Newton understand gravity.

Miss Slack said, ‘The students loved being able to put Newton’s name into context and look at his work from a historical, as well as a scientific, perspective.’
