Volunteers play a valuable role in supporting the academy by offering their time, skills and experience.

To be a volunteer at the academy, you do not need any formal qualifications.  The qualifications we are looking for are:

  • An interest in the education and wellbeing of our students
  • A willingness to support and enhance the experiences of our students
  • Time on a regular basis
  • A commitment to making a real difference to our students

The volunteer roles we currently have at the academy are:

  • Art and displays – are you creative and have time to work with KS4 students in developing their skills and resources, or to create displays in classrooms and around the academy?
  • Careers and business – do you have time to work with students on a variety of business and enterprise projects and challenges? Could you deliver a presentation to students on your career/business experience?
  • Gardening – do you have the time to attend our Friday morning enrichment and after school club to support a group of students with their gardening tasks, preparation for planting and maintenance of plants and crops?
  • Library – can you read with students and support the Librarian in delivering reading strategies?
  • Parent Support Group – we are looking for a committed group of parents to promote the academy in the local and wider community and to develop into a PTFA to organise events and raise funds
  • Spanish – can you speak Spanish and have time to help students improve theis Spanish speaking skills?
  • Sports – can you referee a football match, coach in our fitness suite, attend football fixtures?
